Craft, activity and Alex!

Hubby left for Manila last Thursday for a work trip. So, before leaving he was too kind to help me assembled my craft trolley that we bought from Ikea earlier last week. How handy to have a handyman in the house to fix everything I need . Yay! So when he was away for nearly a week, I decided to reorganize my craft supplies so that I get the extra motivation to work on my scrapbook, card-making and project life. I have yet to get all my things together to fill this up completely. hehe So far so good.

Stationary and sticker collection
Project Life, card stock and embellishment
Washi Tapes, Assorted Scissors etc.
Some of my collection. Gotta fill it up.
RASKOG
RM229

Since hubby was out of town for a couple of days, FiL came over to help me look after Alex. He even drove me to Midvalley for Baby Expo. Bought quite a lot of small things there. :) FiL went crazy over baby stuff especially the food section. He was worst than me but all is good.
At least ada geng. haha

These are some of Alex's photos I took recently. He's growing so fast!
I miss him being all small, light, cuddly like a newborn baby.
No I don't want to smile. Let's get it over and done with.

Uh-oh mommy forgot to bring my stroller, trolley it is then!

Mommy, can I play badminton please?

 Yay, up up and away!

Sunday is usually family funday. Took baby for a swim as usual although hubby wasn't around. There were so many kids there. Lupa pulak dah start cuti sekolah. Baby got distracted half of the time by just watching other kids swimming and splashing in the pool. But i think he had fun.

Now that hubby is back, can't wait to spend some time with him. Alex misses his daddy. Always saying "Daddy, daddy, daddy". Last night, we brought him to the new Tesco in our area. He was so happy to explore his happy place.

A happy video of Alex calling his daddy

Doraemon, are you ready to roll?

Mommy can I take him home please?

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha to my Muslim readers. We went back to Penang pre-Raya Haji coz we know that the traffic will be so crazy (hello, we were stuck in the traffic last year for nearly 9 hours). Plus we had to go back for my nieces' birthday bash last Saturday. Took the Friday off for a long weekend coz I didn't want to take Monday off like many people would do for a long stretch of holiday up till Raya Haji. So, to create the semangat of Raya Haji at home, hubby and myself cooked some yummy raya food alongside an awesome homemade cheesecake. The in-laws came over to celebrate with us. And we even got ourselves some duit raya. Yay!

Alex waiting for us to cook

And being all excited with his bunny

Our menu consists of:

Telur 'Menantu' (masak pedas)

Rendang Daging
+
Rendang Ayam (without photo, accidentally missed it)

 Lemang and Nasi Impit

Kuah Kacang

Nasi Minyak

Ayam Masak Merah

Homemade Cheesecake

Tadaaaaaa...

So last night, after getting some needed rest haha we brought Alex to Toys R Us for some family shopping time. There are heaps of toys for his age, we didn't know which one to choose. Don't make me start on the price.

And on the way out, we got Alex to sit in this for a photo.
He seems to like it. :) Good boy!

Just like his daddy.

And when we got home, he was so happy to try out his new toy.

It's the small things, really!
Happiness.

The hardest thing to do..

I hate being apart from my baby when I'm down with flu and cough. I can't resist the temptation to cuddle, kiss and hug him. I must get well as soon as possible. Tired of wearing face mask every time I go near him. Sorry baby, nothing but the best for you. Looking forward to the long weekend being healthy. Yay!

Sunday Funday

Sunday is usually family funday but yesterday hubby couldn't join us for some fun in the water. I took baby Alex to try out his new float. It was quite awkward at first but after a while, he started getting used to it. But from my point of view, I think he prefers his old neck float as it is easier for him to move his hands and legs.

Hubby had to attend some guy thing with his friends; a racing event that is. So I told Alex, daddy better bring back something good after missing family funday. So, he came home with sunburn and this...

A trophy from Malaysia Super Lap 2013.
We couldn't be happier for him getting first place in the competition.
Yay!

My star is 6 month old

Hi Selamat Hari Raya to everyone. Hope it's not too late. Maaf Zahir Batin.

Sorry for not updating - been busy with things here and there + we just got back from Australia less than a week ago. Will update more about it in the upcoming post. Here's an update on my cute baby boy.

Izz Alexander is now 6 month old, going to be 7 month soon. How time flies. What does 6 month old means? It means getting ready to start weaning and boring blended baby food. No matter how contented breast-feeding or formula-feeding, there comes a time when milk alone is not enough to satisfy him. Mummy is all excited to start making and feeding baby Lex some yummy homemade food. Not only does it taste better, it's healthier and it's cheaper too. As a new mom, I prepared myself with a few baby food recipe books to guide me. Will share some recipes soon after I successfully try them out.

To help me make awesome baby food,  we bought a cool baby blender / food maker called Beaba Babycook from Mothercare for RM699 with a free lunchbox from Gingersnaps. I love the multi-function system of steaming, blending, defrosting and reheating. It's so easy, all in one.

22 August: Alex's 6 month old checkup with his pediatrician.

Buckled up and ready to go to the hospital.

First jab: Left leg

Second jab: Right leg

And....

Minutes after coming out from the doctor's room. Alex is all smiles.
Ohh look how cute these two sweethearts of mine.

He is one strong happy baby. Mummy loves you so much.

Since babyboy is such a good boy who behaves, grandpa decided to reward him with a new exciting toy that he tried in Australia. We couldn't find anywhere in store here in Malaysia. I had been cheated once after doing a money transaction from an online purchase for the item. I swear I was and still mad as hell. At one point, I gave up looking for it and couldn't be bothered but after looking at how my baby loves playing with it, it breaks my heart. So I decided to give another try. Called up Toys 'r Us hotline to find out about the item but they said they don't carry that item anymore. So bye bye Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo.

A few days ago after walking around The Curve, we came across a similar toy which looks like the Jumperoo but from a different brand called Evenflo Exer Saucer. The price is about the same. As it is quite pricey, we wanted to do some review about the product before getting it.

Then then the next day...

Made a promise that this is the last toy for Alex. Botak la mummy and daddy macam ni.

Too busy with the toy and sound.

The RM899 Evenflo Exer Saucer Jump and Learn Toy.

Hope it's worth it.

Do more of what makes you happy

Ask yourself, what are some of the things you do that makes you happy? Find happiness in what you do and find a way to do more often of it. You don't need lots of money or trophies to be happy. You can be happy by just waking up in the morning. There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy. Count your blessings.

Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn't stop to enjoy it.

For me, happiness is:

Seeing my loved ones happy.
Everyday I look forward to go home to my babies. It is true happiness driving in my alley and seeing my baby in his cute tricycle waiting for me to come home from work.

Going for a splish splash session with baby and hubby

Cooking and baking

Grocery shopping with my two fave person; hubby and Alex.

Play dates

Working out; be it jogging, cycling, swimming or breeze walking

Quiet time with my baby boy

Play time

Nappy time

Feeding time (Too chubby for Bumbo seat, so we got him a high chair)

Updating my blog

Spending time on craft projects

Holiday Getaway

.... and so much more.
