Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha to my Muslim readers. We went back to Penang pre-Raya Haji coz we know that the traffic will be so crazy (hello, we were stuck in the traffic last year for nearly 9 hours). Plus we had to go back for my nieces' birthday bash last Saturday. Took the Friday off for a long weekend coz I didn't want to take Monday off like many people would do for a long stretch of holiday up till Raya Haji. So, to create the semangat of Raya Haji at home, hubby and myself cooked some yummy raya food alongside an awesome homemade cheesecake. The in-laws came over to celebrate with us. And we even got ourselves some duit raya. Yay!

Alex waiting for us to cook

And being all excited with his bunny

Our menu consists of:

Telur 'Menantu' (masak pedas)

Rendang Daging
+
Rendang Ayam (without photo, accidentally missed it)

 Lemang and Nasi Impit

Kuah Kacang

Nasi Minyak

Ayam Masak Merah

Homemade Cheesecake

Tadaaaaaa...

So last night, after getting some needed rest haha we brought Alex to Toys R Us for some family shopping time. There are heaps of toys for his age, we didn't know which one to choose. Don't make me start on the price.

And on the way out, we got Alex to sit in this for a photo.
He seems to like it. :) Good boy!

Just like his daddy.

And when we got home, he was so happy to try out his new toy.

It's the small things, really!
Happiness.

My star is 6 month old

Hi Selamat Hari Raya to everyone. Hope it's not too late. Maaf Zahir Batin.

Sorry for not updating - been busy with things here and there + we just got back from Australia less than a week ago. Will update more about it in the upcoming post. Here's an update on my cute baby boy.

Izz Alexander is now 6 month old, going to be 7 month soon. How time flies. What does 6 month old means? It means getting ready to start weaning and boring blended baby food. No matter how contented breast-feeding or formula-feeding, there comes a time when milk alone is not enough to satisfy him. Mummy is all excited to start making and feeding baby Lex some yummy homemade food. Not only does it taste better, it's healthier and it's cheaper too. As a new mom, I prepared myself with a few baby food recipe books to guide me. Will share some recipes soon after I successfully try them out.

To help me make awesome baby food,  we bought a cool baby blender / food maker called Beaba Babycook from Mothercare for RM699 with a free lunchbox from Gingersnaps. I love the multi-function system of steaming, blending, defrosting and reheating. It's so easy, all in one.

22 August: Alex's 6 month old checkup with his pediatrician.

Buckled up and ready to go to the hospital.

First jab: Left leg

Second jab: Right leg

And....

Minutes after coming out from the doctor's room. Alex is all smiles.
Ohh look how cute these two sweethearts of mine.

He is one strong happy baby. Mummy loves you so much.

Since babyboy is such a good boy who behaves, grandpa decided to reward him with a new exciting toy that he tried in Australia. We couldn't find anywhere in store here in Malaysia. I had been cheated once after doing a money transaction from an online purchase for the item. I swear I was and still mad as hell. At one point, I gave up looking for it and couldn't be bothered but after looking at how my baby loves playing with it, it breaks my heart. So I decided to give another try. Called up Toys 'r Us hotline to find out about the item but they said they don't carry that item anymore. So bye bye Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo.

A few days ago after walking around The Curve, we came across a similar toy which looks like the Jumperoo but from a different brand called Evenflo Exer Saucer. The price is about the same. As it is quite pricey, we wanted to do some review about the product before getting it.

Then then the next day...

Made a promise that this is the last toy for Alex. Botak la mummy and daddy macam ni.

Too busy with the toy and sound.

The RM899 Evenflo Exer Saucer Jump and Learn Toy.

Hope it's worth it.

Baby love

Went for my monthly check up last Friday and then straight to look for a baby stroller.
Hubby was so excited to purchase his son an awesome ride just like his own.
So right there, no time wasted. Off we go to to BSC1 and Paradigm Mall.

Bugaboo it is for Andrew Jr.
Guess what color we got for him?
Check out bugaboo strollers here

That very night, he started fixing the new stroller.
Oh-so-cute. Baby happily kicking while his daddy fix his awesome ride!
Boys in my life sama je, both excited, ceciwi and cute.

My family came over on Saturday.
yesterday we were out the whole day for baby shopping and Ikea Shopping.
It was fun. Hubby was so scared to carry Sofea Helena.
So what he did was pushed the stroller in Ikea.
At one point, there was a loud alarm sound, nobody was there with him.
Sofea got shocked and started crying.
So he picked her up and held her close in his arms to soothe her from crying out loud.
Then I saw him from afar holding baby Sophie in his arms. Awwww!
My heart melts! Love at first sight all over again.
Baby Sophie nampak so relax, happy and secure.

And then again at home while everyone was having dinner.
Hubby had to babysit Lil Sophie. Sapa suruh habis makan awal.

Tido terus baby duduk atas dunlopillo best.
No need for bouncing net whatsoever.
This means good news right? Practice makes perfect!
Alhamdulillah.

Oh another thing!!!
Last night tengah baring-baring before we doze off, hubby said,
"B, Tak sabar nak tengok how our baby looks like.."
And then, my heart melts again..

Weekend project

Hi friends, just popping in. Last week was a crazy week. On Friday, we missed our monthly check up and had to rescheduled to this coming Friday. I was quite disappointed because I was really looking forward to see my baby. Hubby pujuk kata takpa la, next week dia besar sikit. Boleh tengok the development. Half day of work gone and hubby decided to take me to PWTC for Mother & Baby Expo and then we went to The Gardens to watch Skyfall. I managed to get some new art stuff at Art Friend before we ended our day with yummy korean food.

The weekend went by so fast. Hubby was busy the whole weekend with his photography stuff. I had to go to KL because it was my working Saturday. So after work, I went around KL to look for new art stuff. Went to the basket shop and decided to buy a few things to try out. Knowing how lousy my sense of direction, I had to rely fully on Waze and my battery was draining like water. After the basket shop, I stopped by PWTC again to get a few stuff for kakak. By the time I got home my phone just died on me. TO my surprise, my cat Kiki gave birth to 3 cute babies. She was so excited with her babies; she didn't eat or drink the whole day. Awww how big of a sacrifice a mom would do for her children.

What you need for this project:
Plain basket
Ribbons
A scissors
Glue Gun
Some ribbon rose petals.
And pretty lace

This basket can be used to store items like bathroom essentials, hair clips, make ups and many more!
Enjoy getting creative. xx

Oh, I can't wait for another getaway with hubby next week!
Counting the days.

Gotta pack up and head back home to get ready for Malaysia International Gourmet Festival!
Bye bye. Hopefully the road is clear. Amin!

Hobbies and interests!

Hubby's been busy with Photography and all I hear from him these days is about photography, camera, settings, workshops, his mentor; Ming Thein and whatnot. He's obsessed and happy with it.
I don't blame him because just like me, I have my own obsession and I wouldn't like it if people condemn or do not support me especially if it's own my husband. In fact, I'm happy he's occupying his time with something good.
So, back to his current obsession.. As an awesome wife, I am very supportive of my husband's new hobby and no doubt about it, I enjoy listening to what he has to say. *wink wink*
I do follow him to photography expo-s and festival. It's nice to see people with so much passion for creative photography although most of the time I was looking for a bench or a chair to sit.
*Don't blame preggo people for this. We are not lazybums okay, we are just tired.*
Last Saturday, I accompanied hubby to Midvalley for KLPF 2012. He went crazy at the expo and I went crazy for my art stuff at Art Friend, Gardens. (Its been a while tak art retail therapy)
He got himself a new camera bag and some camera stuff. So that night, knowing how ceciwi he is and he wanted to try out his new gadgets to get ready for a photo shoot the nxt morning, I had to be his patung model for his ala-ala studio shoot. It was fun tapi penat sikit. Model pun can penat ke?
I had to stand and smile, but looking at the comfy sofa next to me, I cannot tahan. Slalu ja nak duduk.

I wanted to try a new sewing project tapi nak start from scratch,
so I bought all the materials. Saja je nak buat contoh gambar ni. Hopefully jadi.

Hubby bought this bag with very good price. Cantik kan?

Testing ala-ala studio. Can u see the comfy sofa?

Sunday was supposed to be a day of bangun lambat and relax2 but we went out early to help out my cousin with a fashion photoshoot for her new online product.
She was so eager to start up her project and asked hubs to help her with the photoshoot.
Knowing hubby, he was happy to do it. Anything for a new photography project.
Although it took us few hours to complete the whole thing, all of us had fun.

Sneak peak of the photo shoot.

More photos coming up soon from the camera.
Stay tuned.
